ALPIMS β€’ BODY CHECK-IN

Could Your Body Need Something?

Sometimes feeling foggy, irritable, anxious, flat, overwhelmed or simply β€œnot right” may have a physical piece to it.

Check sleep, food, fluids, pain, migraine, illness, temperature, medication effects, physical exertion and other body needs. You do not need to check everything β€” start with whatever seems most likely or easiest.

What might be worth checking?

Choose anything that seems relevant. This is not about finding one explanation for everything. Several small physical factors can overlap, and sometimes one simple need is worth addressing first.

Your body does not have to be in crisis to need support. Hunger, poor sleep, pain, sensory load, temperature, a headache or simply having done too much can make thinking, emotions and regulation harder.

A 60-second body check

If opening the boxes feels like too much, simply glance through these questions and notice whether anything stands out.

Sleep How restorative was last night?
Food When did I last eat?
Fluids Have I had enough to drink?
Pain Am I hurting or physically uncomfortable?
Temperature Am I too hot or too cold?
Symptoms Is migraine, illness or another symptom building?
Activity Have I already done a lot today β€” or recently?
Medication Has anything changed from my usual routine?
BODY NEEDS ARE ONLY ONE PART OF THE PICTURE Still feeling off after checking the basics? How Do I Feel Right Now? β†’
Address the easiest need first.

You do not need to optimise everything. If you are thirsty, drink. If you are cold, get warmer. If you have not eaten, consider food you tolerate. If you have done too much, reduce the next demand if possible.

Then notice whether anything changes.
