When the Environment Felt too Loud

Sometimes the world can feel louder than usual.
Bright lights, background noise, strong smells, busy environments — they all add up.

Reducing sensory load where possible helped my nervous system settle and made symptoms easier to manage.

Over time I also slowly developed a sensory regulation toolkit — small practical things that helped my system calm down when everything felt too intense.

Small changes like these helped lower my overall load and gave my nervous system a little more room to settle.
